Brand presents the 2020 line of Civic Si in Brazil

Honda presents the 2020 line of the Civic Si. The sports coupe, recognized for offering the purest driving experience, arrives renewed in the Brazilian market with changes in the external and internal design, mechanical improvements and new equipment for comfort and convenience.
The Civic Si has differentials that make it a unique model in its segment, such as the exclusive coupe design and superior dynamic behavior and performance, combined with the maximum sense of control, promoted by the six-speed manual transmission, with short and precise couplings.

Unique look
The 2020 line brings novelties in the internal and external design, which reinforce the sporting character of the Civic Si. Holder of an aggressive front, with a black front grille, wide air intakes in the bumper and full LED headlights, the model gains new frames for fog lights - which are now also in LED - with a new design with a glossy black finish and a crossbar that accompanies the body color.



Another novelty is the adoption of new 18-inch alloy wheels, with an unprecedented design and matte black finish, combined with 235 mm tires, which emphasize the coupe's sportiness. At the rear, the Si maintains the design signature of the model, with the high airfoil and horizontal LED bar, which accompanies the entire extension of the rear. The central exhaust has a polygonal shape and a chrome finish. The model also features a sunroof, which reinforces its distinctive and exclusive style.



Inside, the panel gains new elements in red, the same shade adopted in the new central strips of the sports seats, in shell format, with version logos embroidered on the backrest. The differentiated aesthetic is replicated in the red seams of the seats, side doors, as well as in the steering wheel, handle and exchange hood.
Other elements that make the Civic Si's interior so attractive are the TFT digital instrument panel with red lighting, the aluminum sport pedals and the Dry Metal Carbon panel finish.





For the 2020 line, the Civic Si also receives new comfort and convenience equipment, such as the rain sensor, which allows the automatic activation of the wipers, in addition to the wireless cell phone charging system, by induction, positioned on the central console. They complement the model's extensive list of standard items, such as the electronic parking brake, remote door locking and two-zone digital air conditioning.



When it comes to connectivity, the Civic Si brings the most modern features, such as the 7.0-inch multimedia system, which is touch sensitive, integrated with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems, allowing an easy connection from your smartphone to the car. In addition, it has a 450 watt Premium audio system with 10 speakers.

Even more agile
The 1.5 turbo engine that equips the Civic Si, with high performance and torque, features direct injection, double variable valve control on the head (Dual VTC) and 4 cylinders. This family of turbo engines is also adopted - with different power and torque settings - in the Civic, HR-V and CR-V Touring.



At Si, this engine is combined with a six-speed manual transmission, with precise hitches. In the 2020 line, the model receives a 6% shorter gear ratio, which provides an even more enhanced acceleration sensation. With larger front and turbo intercooler, as well as other mechanical improvements, the Si engine brings maximum power of 208 hp at 5,700 rpm and torque of 260 Nm appears at 2,100 rpm and is maintained at 70% of the engine's rotation range .
One of the great differentials of the Civic Si is its dynamic behavior, especially in sports riding conditions. For this purpose, the coupe features improved chassis and steering components, such as the adaptive electric double-pinion steering with variable ratio, suspension with sportive adjustment, adaptive shock absorbers and differential with limited slip. The brakes are 12.3 inches at the front and wide 235/40 R18 tires.



In addition to the adaptive shock absorbers, the suspension also has firmer springs, more rigid stabilizer bars (30% more at the front and 60% more at the rear), solid bushings at the front and rear, as well as ultra-rigid control arms at the rear from the Civic Type-R.
With this, the model offers a more connected driving experience, where the driver can accurately perceive all the feedback from the floor, allowing him to explore the limits of Si with maximum safety and confidence.



Driving modes

Another differential of the Civic Si is the possibility to choose between two driving modes, which increase the dynamics in sports use and also allow comfort in daily use. Through the Sport key, located on the center console, the driver selects between two travel adjustments, which change suspension, accelerator and steering assistance parameters.
In comfort mode, shock absorbers operate more smoothly, steering assistance is improved and the throttle operates less directly, allowing for smoother driving. With the Sport button activated, the shock absorbers work with more load, while the throttle response is more direct and the steering, in turn, has its assistance reduced, making the driver's connection even more visceral and intense.



In the 2020 line, the model gains yet another improvement that reinforces its Racing Spirit. This is Active Sound Control, a technology that uses the audio system to amplify the sound of the engine during more aggressive driving, allowing an even more immersive driving experience for the driver.

Safety
As with all Honda models, safety is also a priority on the Civic Si. The model offers a high level of safety in various scenarios. This is possible thanks to its wide visibility, precise and stable steering, in addition to the high performance of the brakes. The ABS system, with electronic brake distribution, the VSA (traction control and stability), the HSA - Hill Start Assist (starting assistant on slopes), in addition to the exclusive AHA - Agile Handling Assist - which improves the dynamic stability in curves - guarantee maximum handling in different situations.
The model also has 6 airbags, a multivision reverse camera and also comes equipped with the Honda LaneWatch system, composed of a camera installed in the right rear view. When you click the arrow, it widens the driver's viewing angle, eliminating blind spots and projecting this enlarged image on the multimedia system.



Commercialization
The Civic Si 2020 will be marketed in Brazil in a single version, two-door coupe, with three color options: Platinum White, Crystal Black and Rallye Red. The model has a three-year warranty, with no mileage limit and will be available for sale at from July.
