CHARGER SRT REDEYE 2021: 326 km/h speed maximum

It was only a matter of time before the FCA launched the five-door version of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye that was introduced two years ago. Many eagerly awaited the arrival of what can be considered the worst nightmare of European sports sedans in terms of performance, we are talking about the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye 2021.


HEMI V8-797 hp

As in the Challenger case, the SRT Hellcat Redeye Charger hides the same HEMI V8 6.2 Supercharged engine under the hood, offering a maximum power of 797 hp and a torque of 957 Nm. Described by Dodge as the “most powerful regular production sedan and fastest in the world ”, accelerates from 0 to 96 km / h (0-60 mph) in 3.5 seconds, completes the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds at a speed of 207 km / h and for your speedometer at 326 km/h speed maximum.





In addition, the new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye 2021 is only available with the Widebody exterior kit, which allows it to increase the width of the body, as well as a set of 20-inch alloy wheels with 305/35 R20 tires and a high performance hood with a new design of the functional air intakes.



The engineers took some mechanical components from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and installed them under the Charger Redeye. Thus, its V8 HEMI engine is equipped with a larger supercharger, reinforced connecting rods and pistons, a new set of valves and an improved fuel injection system, a new lubrication system and an adjusted torque converter. The engine, in turn, appears coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Dodge also installed the SRT Power Chiller, which is also available as standard on the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. This system diverts the air conditioner from the interior to the engine's air intake to reduce the air and cooling temperature, which improves the engine's performance. Another standard feature is the Race Cooldown, which allows the engine to work at an optimal temperature, keeping the cooling circuit and the fan active.
On the other hand, the interior of the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is equipped with Laguna leather seats that can be optionally covered with Alcantara. 



Both the seats and the console also feature silver seams, black chrome details, a red tone speedometer and a multitude of SRT Hellcat Redeye logos spread throughout.



Standard equipment includes an adaptive suspension, Launch Assist and Launch Control, Torque Reserve and, of course, the Line Lock system, which makes it easier to burn tires. The new Charger Redeye will be available for orders starting in October, while the first units will land at dealerships in early 2021.
