NISSAN

THE BRAND'S NEW INTEGRAL ELECTRIC TRACTION SYSTEM

A few days ago the new Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance strategy was announced, and with it we learned that Nissan will be the flagship of this trio when it comes to electrical technology. Well, that role seems to fit perfectly with the latest announcement from the Japanese brand that showed the world sti new e-4ORCE technology, a new all-wheel drive system for electric cars with two engines that will allow us to considerably improve our driving experience.
As they explain, this technology will improve aspects such as acceleration, braking, steering, cornering behavior and stability, and will also include, for the first time, an all-wheel drive in electric models of the house, which until now have had to conform mainly to front-wheel drive.
As its name implies, the e-4ORCE is a system designed for electric cars and manages the four wheels thanks to a powertrain with two electric motors. According to the brand there are four ways in which this system improves the behavior of a car.
The first and most obvious is the acceleration. The e-4ORCE aims to offer instant acceleration thanks to its two engines, but at the same time smooth, managing delivery at all times.

The second is driving the car, mainly offering " balanced chassis control, precise layout and steering at all times” to ensure predictable behavior of the car, even in the most sudden maneuvers. This is achieved by constantly modulating not only the delivery of each engine, but also the brakes. In this way, a torque distribution of 50/50% to 100% in one of the two axes can be changed.
The third affects the comfort inside, ensuring smooth and comfortable driving at all times, for example by regulating regenerative braking to avoid tilting when braking, or simply maintaining a stable and vibration-free body at all times, in order to avoid dizziness.
The fourth and final has to do with the balance and safety that the car faces under different conditions, including wet or snowy asphalt. With this technology for example, if we step on the accelerator a lot when coming out of a curve under conditions of slippery asphalt, the system will intervene to maintain the control and stability of the car.
For the time being Nissan has already tested a LEAF prototype with the e-4orce and at the moment the results look promising, although it may take some time to see it on the streets.
