Blacked-out 2020 Ford Everest Sport 4x2 launched at PhP 1.868M image
Blacked-out 2020 Ford Everest Sport 4x2

This is the 2020 Ford Everest Sport, the latest variant that slots in between the entry-level Trend, and the Titanium 4x2. First revealed in Australia late last year, the Everest Sport gets a bevy of blacked-out exterior trim pieces, along with a bespoke interior.
Beginning with its looks, the Everest Sport trades chrome for black body accents. The front fascia gets a blacked-out honeycomb-like grill that replaces the three-slat grill seen on the Titanium and Trend models. Meanwhile, the word 'Everest' is spelled out in front of the hood and is also painted black.
In keeping with the dark exterior theme, the 20-inch alloy wheels, front center air intake, foglight housings, side mirror caps, and roof rails are also finished in black. Topping it all off the are unique 'Sport' decals seen on the bottom of the rear doors.
Inside the Everest Sport, the usual gray-colored trim pieces are gone. Replacing them are blue-colored trimmings which can be seen on the dashboard panel, touchscreen infotainment, and on the door panels. The contrast stitching is also painted in the same hue and is present on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, handbrake gaiter, and on the front center armrest.
Providing in-car entertainment is an 8-inch touchscreen media display with SYNC 3. It comes with intelligent voice control, a ten-speaker sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, as well as two USB ports at the front. But perhaps serving as its most important features are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other standard amenities and features available on the 2020 Everest Sport include dual-zone automatic climate control, 4.2-inch digital instrument panel, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, cruise control, power tailgate, and a reverse camera with parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Everest Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine. It puts out 180 PS at 3500 rpm along with 420 Nm of torque at 1750 – 2500 rpm. Power is then shifted to rear wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission with manual select. No 4WD system here as the Everest Sport is strictly a 4x2 seven-seater SUV.

As far as safety features are concerned, the 2020 Everest Sport comes with the following: seven airbags, electronic stability control with roll stability control, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, hill-launch assist (also called hill-start assist), and ISOFIX child seat anchors on the second-row seats.
During the digital launch of the Everest Sport, we asked Ford executives if vehicle supply will be an issue, but Ford Philippines president and managing director PK Umashankar assured us that vehicle supply will be alright.
"We have already secured allocation for Everest Sport even before the lockdown," said PK Umashankar. "We will not suffer any lack of production."
