BMW

SERIES 2 ACTIVE TOURER 2021 WILL BET ON A MORE SPORTING AESTHETICS

Nobody believed in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer when the brand announced its launch on the market, especially as it arrived with front-wheel drive and adopted a shape halfway between a minivan and a compact. But the high sales figures in all markets where it is present have led the German manufacturer to continue with a second generation.
The same thing didn't happen with the Series 2 Grand Tourer, a version with a much more minivan aesthetic and with seven seats, which was discarded from future launch plans. Today, we can give a preview of the second generation of the Series 2 Active Tourer, which has only been in testing for eight months, with about a year to go before it is revealed.
The first recreation reflects some interesting details. BMW will maintain the shape of a profile that has won it over to a young family audience. At the front, the brand will narrow the headlights, marking the shape of the wedge more, while the central part will be occupied by a large grid, one of the characteristic details of future models and which will debut with the new 4 Series Coupe.
The door mirrors are now anchored to the panel, increasing the sporting image of the model, which, in addition, will feature new door handles, semi-integrated into the panels, concealing a retractable effect. At the rear, the Munich brand will mount more modern lanterns, breaking with the current canon with the 'L' shaped position light.

A much more elegant and sporty aesthetic that will also be reinforced with greater length and a small increase in wheelbase. Inside, there will be a leap forward with a new curved screen on the panel and a cleaner transmission tunnel with a small gear lever. A more advanced design that will also translate into more efficient engines, including a plug-in hybrid.
