The company creates ‘emoji jacket ' for cyclists to be able to communicate with drivers
Annually in Europe about 2 000 cyclists die involved in the most varied traffic accidents. Here, the number rises to 1.4 million per year, which is above the average for the 1 billion of US, and between the lack of drivers and disregard for the laws of coexistence of cyclists on the road, and a portion of these accidents occur in the home by a matter-of-visibility flashing lights, and colored garments that are used by the bikers to be the most watched, but it's a idea that, literally glowing in the Ford, you can bring in the solution, and even humor, about the relationship between cyclists and motorists: a jacket for the Emoji. As part of the company “Share the Road” to promote safety on two wheels, the jacket developed by the automobile giant for the European market brings an LED device on the back of the jacket, which ignites an emoji demonstrating the cyclist's temper as well as eventual movements.
There are therefore emojis for happy cyclists, a brave face for angry cyclists, as well as symbols indicating directions for laps and entrances to be taken by bike. "Emojis have become a key part of our language,” says Neil Cohn, a linguist who worked on the initiative. "Whether to show facial expressions, humor or sarcasm, They have become an integral part of our ability to express ourselves quickly. This jacket created in partnership with Ford allows cyclists to express their feelings and create an important emotional link with other people on the streets,” he says. The jacket is still, however, a conceptual test, and it is not known when it will win the markets – and the streets of the cities.
