Is Company planning a 250 HP GR Corolla Hatchback?

At the start of the new year, Toyota surprised the motoring world when they unleashed their most powerful hot hatch to date, the 272 horsepower GR Yaris. Featuring WRC-inspired looks and powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine that is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, the hot hatch is set to be a sure fire winner for Toyota.
However, it looks like Toyota is not yet done making more hot hatchbacks. Apparently, Toyota is cooking up a GR Corolla hot hatch and it will supposedly arrive some time in 2023.
According to AutoExpress UK, it will also be powered by the 1.6-liter G16E-GTS three-cylinder turbo found in the GR Yaris. There is no word yet if it will have the same amount of power, but there is speculation going around that the Corolla could be detuned to make only 250 PS.
Despite having a slightly lower power output, the GR Corolla will reportedly still come with a proper six-speed intelligent (iMT) manual gearbox, a tweaked suspension, and a stiffer set of dampers and springs. Aluminum body panels could also make their way onto the GR Corolla hatch in order to make it more lightweight, and agile on or off the track.

With Toyota looking to inject more fun into their vehicles as of late, their plan to reveal a hotter version of the Corolla Hatchback couldn't come at a better time. With interest in the GR Yaris growing, customers that are looking at a slightly bigger hatchback could be swoon by the GR Corolla instead.
For those that were left wanting more with the GR Sport model, perhaps your wish for a more powerful hatchback may come true should the rumored GR Corolla become a reality.
