VW

The Company presents a new concept in recharge for electrified

Will be through the Volkswagen Group Components that the German brand will market what it calls flexible payloads. Essentially, they are charge stations that can serve up to four vehicles simultaneously, with the energy they have stored in batteries with 360 kWh capacity.
The term 'flexible' is due to the fact that these new posts can operate independently, to serve temporarily drivers, for example during events such as musical or sports shows. But the same equipment has a power management system that allows it to be connected to the grid, so to recharge the batteries, thus being able to operate in areas that are unable to supply power of 100 kW, or 400 kW if there are four vehicles at the same time.
In addition to charging electric cars, these stations can supply scooters and electric motorcycles, as well as any type of battery vehicle designed to offer alternatives for urban mobility. Interesting for the brand, which will also create a range of vehicles for this purpose.
Volkswagen has announced that production of this equipment will start in 2020 in Hanover, with the aim of being increased when used batteries start to exist on the market. This will be more evident in a few years ' time, as these stations are designed to use the same cell modules used by the MEB platforms, which will equip the overwhelming majority of trams in the group.
