Will the 2.0-liter Toyota Supra arrive in the Philippines?

Since it was launched last year, the Toyota Supra only had one engine option available, at least for markets outside Japan. Over there, there's a 2.0-liter option which nudges about 200 PS but the rest of the world gets the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 330 PS standard. But what if you want something in between?
Toyota has come up with an answer for that.
They have added yet another variant of their flagship sports coupe. There's now a model that slots in between the base 2.0-liter inline four and the 3.0-liter straight-six. It's still a four-cylinder, but it packs heaps more than the entry-level Supra.

Yes, the engine is still sourced from BMW. In fact, the numbers are exactly the same ones found in the new BMW 330i. That means it puts out 258 PS and 400 Nm of torque, which is much more substantial than the 197 PS, 320 Nm output of the base model. It's still a fair way off the boosted straight-six, but Toyota is claiming impressive performance figures nonetheless.
This four-cylinder Supra can hit 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.2 seconds. For reference, Toyota claimed the same figures in the old twin-turbo, inline-six Supra from the 90's. There's even a possibility that it can even do less than five seconds given the fact that six-cylinder Supras have been measured faster than the manufacturer's claim. While some may be put off with the idea of a four-cylinder Supra, the claimed performance figures are impressive nonetheless.

The question now is this: Will we be getting it? For now, the first markets that will get it will be Europe and, of course, Japan. Toyota hasn't mentioned if it will be offered in other regions, but this spec will be an interesting addition here nonetheless.
