DAKAR 2020

Dakar 2020: Anulada la última parte de la especial, Joan Barreda sale del podio
Void the last part of the special, Joan Barreda leaves the podium

The Dakar organization has announced that, following a technical problem that has affected the GPS of the motorcycle riders, the classifications have been modified, taking the final stages of the stage at kilometer 389.
See here the chronicle of the stage before the cancellation is known.
From there to finish, the winner of the stage Ricky Brabec had invested a little more than 40 minutes, but many pilots had lost a considerable amount of time, which they have now recovered, as in the case of the KTM pilots: Toby Price has thus recovered about 27 minutes, Sam Sunderland 17 and Matthias Walkner 11.
In this way, the great day of Honda remains but the consequences in the form of time to its rivals are minimized: Ricky Brabec maintains the stage victory but Nacho Cornejo finishes second and Kevin Benavides recovers 12 minutes and finishes the stage at only seven , with Matthias Walkner and Toby Price slipping in front of Joan Barreda, sixth of the stage.
After Luciano Benavides, two of the great beneficiaries of the decision appear: Xavier De Soultrait and Skyler Howes, who get into the top ten that Adrien Metge closes, with Pablo Quintanilla eleventh just ahead of Lorenzo Santolino, who in principle had finished in the top ten as well as rookie Jaume Betriu, who thus descends to the 27th position of the stage, two places behind Joan Pedrero.
Nor has the annulment of Laia Sanz, who had exhibited her great sailing skills to recover many positions on a difficult day, but who with this decision falls to the 34th position of the stage.
Fausto Mota has been 38th and with Josep María Mas, Javi Vega, Sara García and Rachid Al-Lal are a total of ten Spaniards in the top 100 of the stage.

COMPRESSED DISTANCES
Ricky Brabec does not lose the leadership of the provisional general classification, but the 15-minute advantage he enjoyed at the end of the stage is clearly reduced to less than five compared to his teammate Kevin Benavides. What does disappear is Honda poker, since Matthias Walkner gets third ahead of Joan Barreda - who leaves the podium he had gotten into - and Nacho Cornejo, both eleven minutes from the leader and followed closely by Toby Price, which catches air and keeps its options intact to the final triumph.
After 14 minutes Luciano Benavides stays closely followed by Pablo Quintanilla, with Sam Sunderland at 17 minutes and Xavier De Soultrait in a top ten that is separated by less than twenty minutes. To get the idea of how much the general has compressed the cancellation of the tranche, before said decision the tenth classified lost more than 50 minutes.
Lorenzo Santolino is the second best Spanish in the 16th position of the general with Joan Pedrero in the top 20, Laia Sanz 27th, Jaume Betriu 31st and Fausto Mota near the top 40.
