STEP 7, TRUCKS: KAMAZ # 511 WINS AND EXTENDS LEADERSHIP

The seventh round of the Dakar Rally was won by Kamaz # 511 by Andrey Karginov, Andrey Mokeev and Igor Leonov(image above).
The Russian team was ahead of Dmitry Sotnikov's Kamaz #501, Ruslan Akhmadeev and Ilgiz Akhmetzianov for only three seconds. Third position in the Kamaz #516 lead to Anton Shibalov Dmitrii Nikitin and Ivan Tatarinov.
Overall, the # 511 by Andrey Karginov, Andrey Mokeev and Igor Leonov gained the lead in the Rally. The difference for the second ranked is about 21 minutes. This position is occupied by the Kamaz #516 of Anton Shibalov Dmitrii Nikitin and Ivan Tatarinov. Completing the podium is Maz #503 with Siarhei Viazovich, Pavel Haranin and Anton Zaparoshchanka.


STÉPHANE PETERHANSEL: "IT WAS A VERY FAST STAGE…”

Stéphane Peterhansel and Paulo Fiúza took the Mini Buggy # 302 to third place in the seventh round of the Dakar Rally. With this result, they also go third overall, with a disadvantage to the Leaders, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (Mini Buggy #305), of 19m13s.
At the end of the stage, like Sainz, Peterhansel was also at a high pace during the stage.
"It was a very fast step. I think we did it in less than four hours the 550km. Although navigation is not very difficult, we have always had to be very attentive.”
