This $1-Million Restomod Might Be the Ultimate 911

Vintage Porsche 911s have become so popular for restoration shops that entire businesses have been founded based on building them. One of those businesses is Workshop 5001, a small firm in Los Angeles that puts out some seriously pristine examples. This latest one might be the ultimate restomod Porsche.
Henry Catchpole of Carfection got a chance to get behind the wheel of Workshop 5001's newest restoration, a 1972 911 built to absolute perfect specifications. It's powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six tuned to 318 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission with straight-cut gears. With ten gallons of fuel, it weights just under 2200 pounds.
Of course, the numbers are only part of the story. There are a bunch of touches that make this car even cooler than it looks. The suspension is a three-way adjustable KW system that Porsche currently uses on its race cars. The splitter is made of jabrock, a high-density wood material used for skid plates on race cars in IndyCar and F1.
The interior, while sparse, is trimmed in the highest-quality material, and looks immaculate. Carfection put together an entire separate video detailing all of the engineering that goes into each car:
But is it worth $1 million? Catchpole Seems to suggest so, describing his perfect spec and picking lottery numbers by the end of the driving impression video. We don't blame him. In a world dominated by Porsche 911s reimagined by Singer, it's a welcome alternative.
