KALASHNIKOV
The prototype of the new Russian motorcycle, which can reach up to 100 kilometers per hour and ride eight hours without recharging
In February of this year, it was announced that engineers from Russian manufacturer Kalashnikov were making a new electric motorcycle. Last weekend, the motorcycle prototype was first presented at the Professional Navigation Forum in the Russian city of Yaroslavl.
With a power of 50 kilowatts, the Izh electric motorcycle can reach 100 kilometers per hour. The spare lithium battery is capable of providing eight hours of travel after a recharge.
The new motorcycle can operate at temperatures from 0º to 40º C.
According to the project manager of the Russian manufacturer Grigory Novikov, the advantages of the Izh electric motorcycle are many. Besides being ecological, it makes no noise at all.
The Kalashnikov motorcycle belongs to the Café Racer family of two-wheeled vehicles, which includes vehicles for fast travel over short distances. Motorcycles of this type are lighter and faster than most series production bikes.
According to the model's creators, Izh is designed for interesting and fast routes.
Café Racer includes short-haul and maneuverable race bikes. The term originated in the United Kingdom when motorcyclists were racing races between cafes. In competition, it was necessary to reach the end without letting the song end. That's why the Café Racer family bikes are lighter and faster.
The Russian consortium Kalashnikov is currently developing electric motorcycles for both civilians and military personnel.
