Wife "fears I will tell the truth," says former Schumacher businessman

Willi Weber is an important figure in Michael Schumacher's career. A former manager of the legendary pilot, he believes the German's family is afraid he will make Schumacher's situation public.
The seven-year-old world champion, 50, has been in a coma since 2013 after crashing at a ski resort in France. Weber has no strong contact with Schumacher these days and would very much like to know the real state of the pilot, but his wife Corinna shields Michael.
"I know Michael was hit very hard, but unfortunately, he didn't make much progress. I wonder what he was doing, if he can shake hands or move his face, but that's all rejected by Corinna," Weber said.
"She's probably afraid I'll understand what's going on and make it public. I still believe in Michael's recovery because I know he's a fighter. If given the chance, he'll hold on. That can't be the end. I pray for him and I am convinced that we will see him again, "he said in an interview with the German newspaper 'Express.de'.
Schumacher's first of seven F1 titles turns 25 this week. Willi was the German's manager at the time, and recounted the mood of apprehension and partying after the German's crash with Damon Hill, which later yielded the championship.
"I was in the Benneton pits with Corinna and Flavio Briatore. For us, of course. With that, Hill was world champion, but he was suddenly slow and came to the pits. While the Williams mechanics frantically tried to put the car back on the track I was more nervous than ever. When he had to give up, all the pressure was gone, tears fell. At the ceremony, I cried a lot, "he said.
