STE offers special treatment for GMC Syclone
One of the most iconic models of the American brand was the GMC Syclone of 1991, a radical sports version based on the GMC Sonoma, which was manufactured in an exclusive limited edition this year, although in 1992 were mounted 3 additional copies. This mid-size pick-up rivaled many sports cars of the season thanks to its powerful 6-cylinder engine and a particularly chassis configuration oriented to asphalt. In addition, his aggressive and sporty aesthetics staged many headlines at the time.
General Motors' GMC division usually does not have many sporting versions of this type, either now or now, so that the 1991 Syclone is a very prominent chapter in the history of this brand and that the few manufactured copies have become authentic pieces of collector.
In the case of the model that appears in the images, this is a modified model that is inspired by the classic Syclone, although it is based on the current GMC Canyon, the GMC medium-sized pickup that uses the same platform and mechanics of the Chevrolet Colorado . So we can say that the donor vehicle is a type of successor far from the original model.
A standard version of the GMC Canyon, powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a huge compressor, has been built as standard, as well as modifying the intake, cooling and exhaust systems, which can boost its power up to spectacular 461 hp. Numbers remarkably higher than those of the base Canyon and the original Syclone itself, whose supercharged 4.3-liter V6 developed 284 hp and 474 Nm.
In addition to the increase in horsepower, it is clear that EVS staff retook the suspension and added huge sidewalks with low profile tires clearly oriented to asphalt.
