Brand designs gas powered loader
CASE Construction Equipment today presented a vision of the technological and connected advances of the future of construction at the Bauma fair in Munich, Germany, with the revelation of the Tetra Project: unprecedented concept of a methane-powered wheel loader.Developed jointly by the design teams of CNH Industrial International and CASE Engineering, this prototype differs from anything that has already been seen in the construction industry, reflecting the importance of alternative fuels and demonstrating their viability in the construction environment.
The concept loader's engine, manufactured by FPT Industrial, can be supplied with methane and has the differential deliver exactly the same performance as its diesel equivalent.
The drive efficiency combines with the cutting-edge style of the CASE machine, which makes extensive use of touch screen technologies and voice control, creating an advanced operator environment. In addition, innovative safety features include biometrics along with an obstacle detection system, which come from the research and development program of the standalone vehicle of CNH Industrial.
CASE demonstrated the feasibility of this concept in a wide range of real-world construction environments as well as evidence of business strategy in terms of sustainability, reduced total cost of ownership and operational feasibility. CASE's methane-powered concept loader is a result of CNH Industrial's long-term commitment to alternative fuel technologies and natural gas flexibility, demonstrating its viability in both on-road and off-road applications.
