Vladimir Putin is the fourth star of Mercedes?
Installed some 40 kilometers northwest of Moscow, the first Mercedes factory in Russia was inaugurated with due pomp and circumstance. And with the presence of Vladimir Putin, the Russian President who, like any other, is particularly sensitive to investments in the country that generate employment and wealth, especially coming from a particularly popular builder among the Russian ruling class.
As a result of 250 million euros of investment, which created more than 1,000 direct jobs, with the need to add indirect jobs, Mercedes kicked off the factory in Moscow. The main representatives of Daimler were present, starting with Dieter Zetsche, the CEO of the German group, with the Russian side being represented by Putin, accompanied by the Minister of Commerce Denis Manturov and the governor of Moscow, Andrej Vorobjov.
In an area of 850,000 m2, Mercedes' first manufacturing facilities in Russia were built in two years, the latest being a total of 30 in a number of countries. This, in Moscow, will produce the E-Class, in addition to the GLC, GLE and GLS SUVs, that is, primarily for off-road vehicles, proving that, at least in this respect, Russian drivers are aligned with the habits of their European, American and Chinese counterparts.
