Aston Martin is accused of plagiarism by Ferrari
Ferrari is the most iconic manufacturer of supercars, aggressive vehicles with engines running around 800 hp, capable of being both fast to accelerate, fast on the straight and extremely efficient in the corner. But the competition tightens, especially as Lamborghini and McLaren increasingly compete in the market aimed at satisfying drivers who seek strong emotions for values around 400,000 euros.
Following the recent Geneva Motor Show in early March, Aston Martin confirmed that it is in the process of starting deliveries of the 150 Valkyrie units (plus 25 AMR Pro, for track only), with 1,176 hp and a price of 2 , EUR 85 million, before taxes. With this in mind, the conditions were in place to introduce - and begin to attract customers - Valkyrie's "little brother", who appeared in the Swiss competition as Aston Martin 003(in photo above).
So it's (at the very least) curious the reception that Ferrari CEO Louis Camallieri decided to make to the Aston Martin 003 when, in statements to Autocar, he said:
''Imitation is the best form of compliment and we are flattered."
In addition to smaller than the Valkyrie, the 003 trades the atmospheric 6.5 V12 engine built by Cosworth for a supercharged V6 with 800 hp, substantially simple to make the model more accessible. This also contributes to the fact that the brand aims to manufacture 500 units of 003, which causes it to collide with the Ferrari 488 Pista and F8 Tributo.
