FÓRMULA-1

Tests/Day 4: Sebastian Vettel: Another career record

The morning of the final day of Formula One testing before the start of the competition in Australia, he finished with Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) three tenths ahead of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) in a session that ended a little earlier than expected, as Kimi Raikkonen stopped on track, probably with a mechanical problem. This was not the first time that the Finn had to take a pit lane in these tests, since on Wednesday it happened to him the same.
Interestingly, this record for Vettel, 1m16.221s, is only a hundredth of a second faster than team-mate Charles Leclerc managed yesterday. This record also marks another improvement in the fastest time thus far seen in the 2019 tests.
Mercedes also showed the good performance of its W10, as this record of Valtteri Bottas is a second faster than the team had done in tests until today.
Already in the final stage of the morning, Dannil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) improved his registration, passing to the third place. In the front for a long time, Carlos Sainz (McLaren) was fourth, very close to the Russian, but to eight tenths of Vettel.
At Red Bull, some problems. Max Verstappen was the last to join the action this morning, running only 29 laps. It must be remembered that the team had to work overtime until very late, repairing the Red Bull RB15 after Pierre Gasly's strong rider exit near the end of yesterday.
In this way the Dutch only managed the eighth place to second and a half of the Ferrari of Vettel. Also note that the team returned to place the old bargeboard (ndr, part behind the front suspension, and before the flank, on the side of the car). José Luis Abreu, Portugal
