What is micromobility?

The way we approach the concept of mobility is changing and in the future the word micromobility can be the reality of our daily lives in cities. But what does it mean?
As the name implies, it is connected with mobility in the city between very short distances and the transport used to carry it out - as a rule, small, electric and communal use such as scooters and bicycles.
A study by the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility reveals that 60% of travel around the world is for routes of less than eight kilometers, paths in which micro-mobility rests like a glove.
This time, micro-mobility may increasingly be a future solution for large urban centers, in which we alternate the use of the car, which, for example, can be parked at the door of a city, with other vehicles that guarantee satisfaction of our travel needs in a fast, economic and at the same time ecological way. A perspective that is already accompanied by some car brands, which already develop vehicles in this sense, such as scooters.
According to Fabian Simmer (SEAT Digital Officer): "Micro-mobility products are important for private customers, but also for shared-use operators. To develop this future generation of products, we have to take into account both parties. According to the time of day, users should be able to choose different modes of transport.
