VW follows the tedium and retires the gasoline and diesel engines

The German group, led by Volkswagen, is focusing heavily on electric vehicles, setting up a number of factories to build them and others to produce the batteries they need. However, he has always admitted that the overwhelming majority of customers continue to prefer thermal engines, the so-called conventional ones, which burn gasoline or diesel, and will continue to produce them.
Having said this, it is clear that Volkswagen will start to present, from 2020 - initially scheduled for late 2019, but skidded slightly - a range of electric vehicles, in parallel with other conventional, with combustion engines, being that these are also evolved to become cleaner and cleaner. Even because the manufacturer needs good thermal motors to equip their hybrid plug-in models, which the group's brands also lack if they want to respect CO2 emissions.
The surprise now comes from the announcement by Volkswagen Group chief Michael Jost that the latest new vehicle equipped with a combustion engine will begin to be manufactured in 2026. Jost's statements took place during the Handelsblatt Auto Summit , an event that was organized at the group's headquarters in Wolfsburg, as reported by Reuters.
Obviously, the vehicle to be introduced within seven years on the market will then be produced for a minimum period of between five and seven years in order to make the investment viable. This means that, from 2031 onwards, the German group, which manufactures more than 10 million cars per year, will no longer produce gasoline or diesel vehicles. Autonews
