TOYOTA

Toyota quiere que controles robots humanoides a gran distanciaCompany wants you to control humanoid robots at a great distance
More than a year ago, Toyota introduced the third generation of its humanoid robot, the T-HR3. Like many other robots, it was designed to help humans. However, its main novelty is the possibility of controlling it through a platform with virtual reality glasses. Surely in your head already circulates the idea of putting them to fight and we can not judge you, is the closest thing that exists to Pacific Rim.
Although the characteristics of the T-HR3 were already surprising, the Japanese firm has been working for months to improve its capabilities, including remote control over long distances. Toyota is testing a state-of-the-art wireless system that allows the robot to be controlled at distances of up to 10 kilometers. The above has been thanks to the 5G connectivity technology.
At the moment there has not been a real test with this system. Toyota says that using the 5G technology of the Docomo operator it is possible to control it at a great distance without any latency problems. They have not mentioned if they plan to do a test to test the connectivity capabilities, it would certainly be very interesting to see their performance. This implementation increases the possibilities of the T-HR3 and the areas where it can be used. The company sees its applications in sectors such as medical assistance, however, the robot has to improve their mobility to make them efficient in this sector. Boston Dynamics has already managed to make its Atlas robot perform movements with great agility, although it is not yet possible to control it from a distant distance. 5G connectivity is a trending topic at present. Manufacturers of mobile devices will bet on this technology in the coming years, however, its adoption worldwide remains slow and it may take several years for it to become the standard. It's too early to dream of robots fighting in the streets while their owners are at home. H. T./Mundoquatrorodas
