APRILIA

RSV4 1100 2019-Fast test

With an increased displacement up to 1078cc, thanks to the new 81mm piston, a solution inherited from the Aprilia Tuono, the new Aprilia RSV4 Factory includes a new oil pump and a longer ratio in the 5th and 6th gear. The Marelli centralina now comes with a different setup and a reduction of the rotations to the 13,600 rpm. In addition to this engine-level upgrade the RSV4 now mounts an Akrapovic "legal street" exhaust. The wheelbase was reduced by about 4mm. putting more weight on the front wheel, which will give the RSV4 more agility and easier cornering. The total weight of the bike is now under 200 kg, more precisely 199 kg.

The front suspension now has a further 5mm stroke giving the RSV4 more sensitivity from the front and balancing with the enormous rigidity that presents its chassis. The swing arm has also been reinforced and is now even more rigid contributing to greater precision in driving the RSV4 Factory.

Braking has been improved with Brembo Stylema brake calipers previously used exclusively in the Ducati Panigale, which now assemble the Factory version of the RSV4 1100 together with carbon conduits that force the air towards the braking system, contributing to the efficiency of the cooling.

As far as fibers are concerned, they are now all carbon, keeping lines rather conservative but in the total set ends up resulting in an updated and more aggressive image. For the most purist of the "1000" Aprilia maintains a RR version with 201 hp but does not include a series of improvements of the new 1100 and only with a new painting and eventual option of the "Track Kit".
