Mission E concept previews the 2020 Porsche Taycan Electric Car
Tesla Model S can be compared to the Taycan - the Germans say yes

Benchmarking is essentially comparing your business or product with the best in the industry or with a specific competitor, considered the benchmark. And because the Model S is the most powerful and fastest electric car of the moment, it makes sense that Porsche opposes the Taycan to the American car, more than for lack of better. However, the Germans continue to deny that the Model S is the benchmark for its battery-powered saloon. After having been picked up on several occasions in Germany, with the Taycan prototypes running alongside Model S and X, here's Porsche's engineers once again compared the performance of their car to that of Tesla. The chosen spot was the mountainous road between Switzerland and Italy, which has its highest point on the summit of Stelvio - exactly the one that gives the name to the SUV of Alfa Romeo -, at 2757 meters of altitude.More recently, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, who initially argued that Model S was not a rival to his brand - and in reality is only a lack of better alternatives - later came to admit that Tesla is winning some of its your customers. This means that if Model S is not a benchmark for Taycan, it is for the German brand customers.Next to the two prototypes of the Taycan is a Model S, but the old ones, since the black Tesla belongs to Frank Cooreman, who discovered the group and took the photos. Having a car with a few years to serve as a comparison with a model that will only be marketed in 2020 is rare, and leaves the idea that the vehicle was acquired by Porsche, since the Model S of this generation are no longer available in the rental market.
