GUZZI

V85 TT - "CLASSIC ENDURO"

Presented at the EICMA Salon in Milan last year, the Moto Guzzi V85TT marked the return of the brand to the motorcycle segment of the whole terrain, to the adventurers of great displacement, but without losing the classic spirit characteristic of the whole range and reinforcing the same, both for its lines and for its decoration, this revivalist feeling designated by the brand as "Classic Enduro".

But anyone who thinks that the new Moto Guzzi V85TT is an outdated motorcycle because according to the Italian company the V85TT is full of modern and current technology. It includes traction control and ABS, which act depending on the motor mode selected, with option between Road, Rain and Off-Road.The V85TT mounts a color TFT panel where you can control all the information with a fast and clear reading of the speed, rotations, fuel level, gear engaged, temperature and also the functions of cruise control.

In addition, the panel also concentrates all the features included in the multimedia system via Bluetooth. The V85 engine uses the base of the V9 but is a brand new engine. Inside it was drastically reduced the weight of its elements up to 30% less. A new crankshaft and shorter pistons will contribute to this reality. The engine cooling system mounts an inner oil pump and dispenses with the oil cooler.

The engine continues to mount only 2 valves per cylinder but there has been a substantial improvement in the design of the camshafts which combined with the new titanium valves and a 52mm throttle body make the engine charge a respectable 78 hp.

There was also a remarkable evolution in the smoothness of the box, a reality that was not verified in the engine for example of the V9, and now includes synchronization of the 1st speed. The transmission continues to be by shaft which in the case of V85 is 70mm longer than that of V7.The V85 is obviously off-road, with a reinforced chassis and long-stroke suspensions that allow it to provide a reasonable ground clearance, while still maintaining the seat at a contained height. The V85 mounts 19 "wheels at the front and 17" behind, with bladed wheels that need air chambers.
The Guzzi V85 motorcycle is one of the few Maxi Trail that maintains the traditional air cooling, but says that it will also be compatible with the Euro5 very soon. The definitive version will certainly be presented at the upcoming international shows but is only expected to be available at the brand's dealerships in the first quarter of 2019.
