BRAND PRESENTS YOUR HYDROGEN MOVED TRUCK

Toyota's commitment to hydrogen technology is growing stronger. Just a few days after Yoshikazu Tanaka, the chief engineer in charge of the Toyota Mirai program, had confirmed that the Japanese company is planning to increase its investment in this area and take the step toward mass production of the technology, a new version of its experimental truck powered by hydrogen cells.Named Project Portal, this initiative by Toyota Motor North America has already modified two Kenworth brand 'Category 8' trucks with the same technology and elements that can be found on the Mirai, thus achieving a zero emissions vehicle.

Last year was presented the first version that was of a blue mechanical horse, which had 2 hydrogen fuel cells like those used by the brand in the Mirai, which feed an electric motor of 679 hp and 1,749 Nm of maximum torque. The load capacity was 32,287 kilos and the autonomy of the model was announced as exceeding the 321 kilometers.
This week, Toyota from the United States unveiled a new version of this prototype, with remarkable technical improvements that allow it to increase the yield of the truck considerably, increasing its autonomy to 482 kilometers, which means 161 kilometers more than its predecessor.
Named as Project Portal 2.0, this new prototype is again based on a Kenworth model and is in dark red color. The Japanese brand claims that all its numbers have been improved, as well as the user's comfort in long journeys thanks to a new, well-equipped cabin with rest area. Its mechanics use the same elements as its predecessor, but with an improved performance. Its electric motor continues to have the same power, but with a range that has increased greatly, to 482 kilometers, which allows a wider range of use of the model and the use of these vehicles.
