DAIMLER BUSES LAUNCHES NEW BUSES
Daimler Buses has prepared many new features for the IAA 2018 - Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show, which will be held from September 20 to 27 in Germany. Among the innovations are: fully electric urban bus Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, Setra S 531 DT two-stage bus and 'Active Brake Assist 4' system as standard. In addition to these launches, Daimler Buses brings to the market digital services for urban and highway buses. Thus, Mercedes-Benz and Setra vehicles again set new standards. These models are ecologically more compatible, safe, economical and comfortable than ever before.

Mercedes-Benz eCitaro and the eMobility system
The new all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro takes electricity-based mobility to a new level. The vehicle offers efficiency and ease of operation of the thermal management system, which uses innovative components, available for the first time with the launch of eCitaro. This is the beginning of an innovative initiative for electric mobility. Along with the debut at the IAA, Daimler Buses already presents a concrete timetable for the development of this technology in the urban model for the next years. ECitaro already covers a large portion of today's urban bus operations. In a short time you will be able to fully replace the combustion engine with battery technology and boost the range through the fuel cell. The new eCitaro is much more than an urban bus: The model incorporates the eMobility system of Daimler Buses, which supports transport operators with consulting services, management training of their employees and providing specific services. The eMobility system and eCitaro paved the way for electric mobility in urban buses in large cities.

New double decker bus Setra S 531 DT
Setra TopClass S 531 DT double decker bus will make its debut at the IAA, setting new standards in its category. The model stands out for efficiency in terms of fuel consumption, with maximum application flexibility, comfort and the highest degree of safety.Due to its lower floor version, this Setra bus carries out tourism transportation operations and regular road service. New 'Active Brake Assist 4' assistance system as standard
At the IAA 2018 Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz and Setra again set the benchmark for active safety. The 'Active Brake Assist 4' (active braking assistance system) for road buses is the first that also brakes pedestrians. It will become standard equipment for these Mercedes-Benz and Setra models in 2019.Another launch is the unprecedented 'Preventive Brake Assist', technology that performs active braking assistance for the urban segment. In addition, the Daimler Buses brings another novelty: the Sideguard Assist is the first assistance system that warns of the presence of pedestrians, cyclists and obstacles standing still while the bus is maneuvering sideways. This technology is available for the whole line of urban and highway buses of Mercedes-Benz and Setra.
'Uptime' and 'Omniplus On' now with digital services
New in the IAA 2018, services for city and highway buses become digital with 'Omniplus On'. This opens up new possibilities for bus companies and drivers thanks to connectivity. Digital services are grouped in a clearly defined way in this new Internet portal.Omniplus On is based on pillars. Omniplus On Advance ensures maximum fleet availability for bus companies. For example, through the 'Omniplus Uptime' service, which continually monitors the relevant vehicle systems in real time. Data are continuously analyzed and interpreted. If technical problems occur, the bus company is immediately informed by the Omniplus 24h Service, also receiving the recommended measures to avoid vehicle crash. Omniplus On Monitor combines telematics services for efficient fleet management. Finally, the 'Omniplus On Drive' ensures communication between the driver and the company, helping the driver with the daily inspection required for departure.
