Coinciding with Porsche's 70th birthday, the German brand has recovered two classic decorations for Le Mans, the legendary 24-hour World Championship of Resistance (WEC), which will be played on June 16 and 17. With these two decorations that pay tribute to its more than extensive pedigree in competitions, the company will wear two of the ten Porsche 911 RSR that will start at the Sarthe circuit in just two weeks. One of the Porsche 911 RSR retrieves one of the most famous classic decorations of the brand, the Pink Pig, which immortalized the Porsche 917/20 in 1971. This prototype of racing already had very sinuous forms, that is why the engineers of Weissach decided to paint it to look like a butcher's cutting diagram. Nicknamed the Zuffenhausen truffle hunter, he did not get a good result in that year's Le Mans race, but his appearance was enough to get into the brand's history books.

The second decoration that the company rescues from the Porsche Museum is the blue and white color, probably the most recognized of all. This new interpretation is reminiscent of the Rothmans color scheme that was used by the Porsche 956 and 962 who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans on two occasions, as did the Porsche 959 1986 Dakar Rally Champion and Damon Hill Formula One and Jacques Villeneuve. Even Ayrton Senna passed away while his Williams showed this decoration.

The car number 91 with the decoration of Rothmans will be piloted by Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz and Frédéric Makowiecki; while the 911 RSR number 92 with the Pink Pig style will be driven by the French circuit by Kévin Estre, Michael Christensen and Laurens Vanthoor. These will be followed by another two 911 RSRs from the factory and another six from private teams.
