BMW CHOOSES IVECO TO TEST CNG TECHNOLOGY
IVECO carried out a pilot project in partnership with the BMW Group to test a vehicle powered by Natural Gas (LNG), using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), in the logistics operations of the German manufacturer in Europe. The model chosen was the IVECO Stralis NP, the first natural gas truck designed for long-distance transport. The test, implemented with Germany's Spedition Duvenbeck, was carried out with an IVECO Stralis NP 400 truck powered by LNG, daily moving engines from BMW's industrial plant in Steyr, Austria, to its facilities in Regensburg, in Germany.Pierre Lahutte, president of IVECO, points out that the company is proud of the fact that BMW shares with the brand this vision of the future of the sector, recognizing natural gas as the next step towards sustainability. "We have seen a rapid growth in the number of international logistics manufacturers and operators opting for LNG. Many are choosing IVECO to convert their LNG fleets, given the experience of our advances over the past 20 years. "
IVECO has been a pioneer in natural gas technology for the past 20 years and is recognized as the industry leader.
