BUICK

TWO VERSIONS FROM NEW VELIET 6 TO CHINA
Buick is offering two images of the new versions of the Velite 6 PHEV and Velite 6 BEV, two models of the same line that will soon arrive at the offering of the General Motors brand that sells its products very well in China. The Velite 6 line is part of the 'Buick Blue' strategy, which aims to offer very efficient vehicles in China, especially due to the high demand for such versions of zero emissions and which are provided by the electric and hybrid plug-in, an offering that currently features the Regal Hybrid, LaCrosse Hybrid and Velite 5, an extended-range electric, twin brother of the Chevrolet Volt. The new Buick Velite 6 PHEV and Velite 6 BEV are based on the Velite Concept, which was presented in November 2016 at the Guangzhou Motor Show, and will feature a new generation of eMotion electric propulsion system, which in the case of the plug-in hybrid version will be high performance, delivering high performance with maximum fuel economy and long range, while the electric version will adopt a completely new battery, which will not only maximize the autonomy, but also offer a high driving comfort. For the time being, the only two images presented by the Buick as an advance show the front and part of the side of the concept, showing a great resemblance to the Opel Astra, including the daylight shape of the front headlights, but the most notable is the image of the left rear flashlight, with a shape very close to the compact German brand.

Despite these two details, Buick had already said in Guangzhou that not only meant the beginning of the implementation of the Buick Blue strategy for China, but that the production model will be based on the concept. In March 2017, the brand introduced the new technologies for its new zero emission strategy with plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) to China with a new generation of Ecotec engines of 1.0 and 1.3 liters - both turbocharged and especially focused for extended range electric - and a nine-speed transmission.
Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREV) will feature an EVT (Electric Variable Transmission) intelligent variable transmission that channels the power of a high-performance electric motor, a pure hybrid direct injection motor, and a high-performance lithium-ion battery pack , which in full electric mode can count on a maximum autonomy of 100 kilometers and in extended autonomy mode multiply that number by seven.
