THE FITTIPALDI ARE BACK...2018 will be a full calendar year for Pietro Fittipaldi. The Brazilian driver, already guaranteed in some stages of Indy and Endurance World Championship, has signed to compete for most of Super Formula, the main Japanese championship of single-purpose.The agreement is with Team LeMans, the team that the Brazilian defended in collective tests in Suzuka. Pietro replaces Felix Rosenqvist, now in the Super GT, and forms double with Kazuya Oshima.Due to scheduling conflicts with Indy, Fittipaldi's schedule in Japan will be reduced. Activities in May in Indianapolis mean presence in five of the seven stages of the Super Formula season."I am very happy and honored to sign with Team LeMans to race in Super Formula," said Pietro. "It's a fantastic car and an extremely competitive championship. I look forward to the first stage in Suzuka, "he continued. The five races in Japan, plus seven at Indy and two at WEC, complete a triple 14-round journey to Fittipaldi. Even in three championships, it's still a smaller number of tests than the World Series in 2017, when the Brazilian competed 18 times on the journey to the title.
The Super Formula 2018 season starts on April 22 with the first race at Suzuka.
