ABARTH GT STRETCHES A RIGID CARBON FIBER CEILING
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will present several new features at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show 2018, which will be celebrated in a few days, among which is a new version of the Fiat 124 Abarth which bears the surname 'GT', which as a more relevant detail incorporates a new roof made of carbon fiber.The new Fiat 124 Abarth GT has a carbon fiber roof that weighs only 16 pounds and can be removed manually. The hard top is lined inside and features a built-in rear window with trip function for improved visibility.In addition to the improved sound insulation, the hard top provides the 124 with a coupe look. In addition, the 124 Abarth GT debuts a new carbon fiber finish for the front splitter, rear aerofoil and mirrors, as well as new 17-inch OZ alloy wheels painted in 'Gun Metal' which are 3 pounds lighter than the standard ones. It also offers a new exclusive color for the bodywork called 'Alpi Orientali'.

Regarding the mechanics there is no news, since the model retains the same T-Jet turbo engine of 1.4 liters that develops 170 hp of power and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, appearing coupled to a manual or automatic transmission, in both cases of six speeds. This mechanical configuration allows the Italian brand convertible to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 232 km / h.For now the manufacturer has not provided details on the price of this new version of the Fiat 124 Abarth Spider, nor when it will start marketing.
