THE ABOMINABLE SNOW VEHICLE

During the winter, in temperatures below 15 C °, Finland is shrouded in snow in the central and northern regions between November and April. This season, which favors winter sports, on the other hand, poses a real challenge for VR Track - one of Finland's largest rail infrastructure construction and engineering companies, where snow needs to be removed from the rail network for 6,000 kilometers.The solution chosen by the company was the Unimog U 427 road-rail. The model removes snow in the north region and also removes and scans the east region, as well as performing other special tasks on the VR Track.
If it is necessary to do operations in neighboring Sweden, the Unimog rails can be converted from the gauge with 1,524 mm (wide gauge in Finland) to the standard (1,435 mm) used in Sweden.
