VOLVO: NEW SUV COUPE, THE XC50 THAT WILL COME IN 2020
With all of the 90 line-up renewed and part of the mid-range with the XC60 and the latest new V60, Volvo is slowly regaining ground with completely new and more technologically advanced models, while also entering new segments of market like the compact SUVs with the XC40.Although the Swedish manufacturer is also working on the development of more efficient mechanics, it has confirmed that by the end of the decade it will offer a fully electric compact, and its intention is to rely on a hybrids-only line, this strategy does not mean conforming to the models it has in its portfolio and the pertinent renovations, but that will offer new models in the next years. In fact, Volvo is one of the few brands in the Premium category that does not yet have any Coupe-looking SUVs. But according to the British Autoexpress, in the not too distant future the Swedish brand will have this model, an SUV that will be between the XC40 and XC60 using the trade name of XC50.The manufacturer already had this commercial name registered a few years ago, but on January 30 made a new registration with that name, which indicates that Volvo already works on this model and intends to fill with it one of the spaces available on the line. It appears that the XC50 will arrive at the beginning of the next decade, after the brand has completely renewed the line of models. This means that this will happen after the launch of the new generation of S60 - scheduled for release later this year - and the new generation of the five-door V40 compact we are about to see in about a year for the European spring of 2019.Even the bet is not risky for the Swedish brand, since it will be the way to not lose market share in relation to the rest of the Premium manufacturers who are making inroads in the segment, as is the case of the BMW X2, the new X4 and the Mercedes -Benz GLC Coupe.
