MOBIUS II: UM SUV ‘LOW COST’ FABRICADO NO QUÊNIA Imagens e fotos de carroThe Kenyan SUV

Mobius Motors is a car manufacturer located in Kenya and aims to be one of the most important in Africa. The Mobius II is a 'low cost' SUV that is designed not only to be affordable at the time of purchase, but also to be inexpensive to maintain, thanks to a technical and mechanical simplicity, which guarantees high reliability. The new Mobius II is the second vehicle presented by Mobius Motors, which is based in Nairobi, where it manufactures all its models in a practically handmade way. With square shapes, the image of this cheap SUV resembles the old all-terrain, with an angled body with flat panels resting on a classic chassis of sills and crossbars. In the front, the African low-cost SUV has a MacPherson suspension, a widely used scheme among all car manufacturers, due to its low production cost and balanced performance. At the rear it uses a rigid axle supported by spring bundles to ensure a load capacity of up to 625 kg and provide the robustness needed to survive in harsh environments.

Underneath the hood hides a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a power output of 131 hp and 182 Nm of torque. A block that emerges coupled only to a five-speed manual transmission that transmits the force exclusively to the rear axle. Although the SUV is designed for developing countries, incredible as it may seem, it will not feature in any of its four-wheel drive versions.Inside, it has a space that, like the exterior, presents simple shapes, without frills and without superfluous elements. It has a capacity to carry up to five passengers, but the access versions only come with two seats. The two main options the brand offers are: an 8.0-inch touch-screen infotainment system and air conditioning.Regarding the price, the SUV is sold in the local market by 1.3 million Kenyan shillings, equivalent to 42,000 reais at the current exchange rate. According to the brand, this figure is lower than the price that are sold some sedans with five or six years of use in the used car market in Kenya.
