AUDI PRESENTS HOMELESS APOLLO LUNAR MISSIONS WITH A SPECIAL VIDEO
On December 7, 1972, NASA launched the Apollo spacecraft bound for the Moon. Exactly 45 years later, Audi celebrates this historic event with Apollo 45, a video specially created for the occasion that pays homage to the famous announcement of the four-rim of the 90s on the quattro traction, and offers viewers a view of the 'Mission to the Moon' with the Audi Quattro lunar, scheduled for 2019.The new ad is set in the year 2030. Two astronauts exploring the surface of the Moon find some footprints: those left by Neil Amstrong in 1969, those of the Lunar Rover that arrived in 1972 with Apollo 17 and the footprints of the Audi lunar quattro that arrived to the moon on a special mission in 2019. The spot makes a reference to another commercial ad of the 1990s, in which an Eskimo father teaches his son how to identify the footprints left by different animals in the snow, until one can identify those of the an Audi quattro (see here).Audi performed the new video as a tribute to the last manned space flight to the moon 45 years ago with Apollo 17, while also announcing the very role of the Ingolstadt brand in a future lunar mission with the Audi lunar quattro. "We will put a quattro on the moon," says Giovanni Perosino, head of Communications and Marketing at Audi. "It's a great opportunity to demonstrate the performance of our technology under the toughest conditions. And that was also the idea that inspired us to shoot this video. "Since 2006, Audi has been developing the lunar vehicle in conjunction with a team led by Robert Boehme, founder and CEO of PTScientists ('part-time Scientists' ). Audi experts are supporting this Berlin-based initiative, bringing their expertise in the areas of full-traction (quattro technology), lightweight construction, hybrid electric propulsion systems and plug-in (e-tron) and design optimization.
