Bosch Perfectly Keyless transforms a smartphone into a digital key
Bosch has launched Perfectly Keyless, an app that responds to one of the biggest challenges of anyone who owns a car: the unbridled search for the car key. Whether it's the rush in the morning or shopping with your hands full of sacks, unlocking the car can prove to be a challenge. A Perfectly Keyless is a digital car key. To use it, you need to download an app to your smartphone and connect the cars to the app. Once the connection is made, the smartphone generates a unique security key, appropriate to the digital lock of the respective vehicle."Perfectly Keyless, our digital vehicle accesssystem, means that drivers will be able to use their cars without traditional keys. It's a great example of connected, stress-free mobility, "said Harald Kröger, President of Bosch Automotive Electronics Division. As soon as the user approaches the car, his smartphone is identified by the on-board sensors. "After identification, the car unlocks without the need for a physical key - just as no key is required to start the engine or to lock the car at the end of the course," said Kröger.Drivers can still use an app to give other drivers permission to use their cars. Through a secure process, protected against unauthorized access, an additional virtual key is sent through the cloud to other smartphones. This system allows companies with car-sharing services and car fleet operators an easy and flexible key management.

A journey without stress and without keys
Perfectly Keyless uses a wireless connection with the on-board sensors of the vehicle to be able to measure the distance to the smartphone and identify the safety key. Once the distance between the driver and the vehicle is less than two meters, the car door is unlocked and is the end of the search for the keys!
As soon as the vehicle is unlocked, all predetermined individual settings, such as the position of the rearview mirror and the seat, are activated. And if the Perfectly Keyless detects the smartphone in the car, a tap on the start-stop button is enough to start the engine. When you exit the car, the system remains connected to the smartphone. At least until two meters away, where the car automatically locks. Doing so sends a notification to the user's smartphone.
