Scania R440 is the best-selling truck in Brazil
2017 ended up being a year of recovery for the truck industry in Brazil. There were several launches during the year, and Fenatran was the icing on the cake, presenting dozens of news to the industry. 2018 should be a year that will maintain the growth curve. In 2017, 52,069 trucks were sold, compared to 50,292 in 2016, a growth of 3.35%. Many automakers have something to celebrate. The recovery of the Brazilian economy needs more and more trucks for transportation, and the good harvest should be another lever for the growth of truck sales.Scania is one of the carmakers that has more to celebrate. The Swedish automaker closed the year as the fifth placed in total sales, behind Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford and Volvo, but its model R440 was Brazil's best-selling truck in 2017, ahead of even light models such as Delivery 8.160 from Volkswagen.
