KOREAN BRAND PRESENTS ITS NEW VISION FOR MOBILITY OF THE FUTURE KIA
Motors shows its vision of future mobility at the CES - Consumer Electronics Show 2018, which takes place in Las Vegas (USA). Under its new motto 'No Limits for All', KIA is betting on a future in which mobility and transportation opportunities will be unlimited. To broaden horizons with its mobility services, KIA is also exposing a number of new technologies as part of the new 'ACE' strategy to make its cars more autonomous, connected and eco-friendly."'No Limits for All' is KIA's vision for the future, in which everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of the endless value that mobility will bring. This is KIA's manifesto, according to its role as supplier of mass mobility in the future. Today, consumers are taken by the idea that a car is 'just a vehicle', but KIA is committed to offering a broader mobility solution. "Without limits to all" represents the future in which a vehicle can be much more than the simple sum of its parts, "said Woong-chul Yang, VP and chief of Kia's R & D Center.KIA's 'ACE' strategy is based on three main elements, presenting the brand's vision for future personal transportation:- Autonomous - KIA plans to market Level 4 stand-alone driving technology, with autonomous 'Smart City' vehicle testing starting in 2021.- Connected - By 2025, KIA will adopt connected car technologies across all vehicle segments. In addition, it intends to make each model a car connected by 2030.- Eco / Electric - KIA will introduce 16 new vehicles with advanced powertrain by 2025, including a variety of new hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles, as well as a brand new all-electric fuel cell electric vehicle by 2020.

In addition to autonomous driving
At CES 2018, KIA is introducing a series of interactive exhibits that combine existing and future technologies. The goal is to demonstrate how vehicles can be optimized with new forms of advanced connectivity as they become more autonomous. The KIA exhibitions at CES 2018 suggest a future 'beyond autonomous driving'. Visitors can interact with KIA's autonomous control technologies through a VR simulator, while experimenting with a simulator that demonstrates how cars can connect with other vehicles and the urban environment. The company plans to operate a large-scale fleet of standalone technology tests on public roads starting in 2019, paving the way for commercial production. KIA plans to market Level 4 autonomous vehicles in 'smart cities' starting in 2021."Kia's connected cars will offer a new kind of mobility experience. Virtual reality, self-guided cars, and complete connectivity have long been considered technologies of the distant future. As they quickly come true, KIA is working to adapt them to their customers. Our strategy for future mobility is demonstrated by a variety of interactive displays, showing what our customers can expect, "said Vice President Yang.

16 new electric vehicles by 2025
KIA will continue to expand its line of environmentally friendly cars in the coming years and plans to offer a total of 16 electric vehicles by 2025, including an electric fuel cell vehicle (VWF) by 2020."By 2025, we have offered a total of 16 vehicles with advanced powertrain, with five new hybrids and plug-in hybrids, five new EV batteries and a new mass-market VEGF. Due to the launch in 2020, this VSF will lead KIA's efforts to achieve a future for zero-emission mobility, "Yang said.As part of this strategy, KIA displays the Niro EV Concept at CES 2018. Combining the sleek design of a modern compact SUV with a high-efficiency electric powertrain, the vehicle represents the brand's next step toward electrification.Created by KIA's design studio in Korea, the Niro EV Concept is an all-electric compact SUV. Its aerodynamically efficient body allows air to pass around and under the vehicle with ease. The traditional grille, which is no longer required for engine cooling, is replaced by an interactive display panel, combined with ultra-thin lamp technology at the front. The concept is inspired by the current KIA Niro, with a compact profile.
