BOSCH

Bosch puts a new passenger in your car
The German company introduced Casey, a car voice assistant with the aim of avoiding driver distraction at the wheel. Technology was developed over 10 years.Put an end to the chaos of buttons inside a car to make driving safer and more enjoyable. This is the justification given by Bosch Board member Dirk Hoheisel to "turn the voice assistant into a passenger".The voice recognition wizard was called Casey, but by understanding and speaking 30 different accents and dialects, it can be called by any name at the driver's choice. With a total of 44 female voices and nine male voices, the conversations in the car become more personal, since the technology does not respond to commands of rigid words. The company also points out that the wizard can learn from their users' habits and routines by, for example, differentiating two contacts from the address book that have the same name based on the time they are asked to make the call.In addition, because it does not require an external data connection and because the car infotainment system takes over the calculation without sending the data to the cloud, this technology remains "switched on" even in areas with little network or inside tunnels.
