REVELADO O TOYOTA SUPRA DA NASCAR XFINITY SERIES Imagens e fotos de carro
SUPRA XFINITY SERIES
Toyota revealed in the United States the version of Supra destined to compete in the Xfinitiy Series of NASCAR, the second most important category of the competition. This confirms the information that came up a few weeks earlier, which ensured that the Japanese brand planned to replace the current Toyota Camry with the new generation of Supra, which happens for the first time since Toyota participates in this specialty. Up until now, it had always competed with Camry versions, the best-selling sedan on the American market.

As it can be appreciated in the images, the model seems very different, but the truth is that it only changes, since like all the participants of this competition, the model that represents counts only with traces in its outer casing, the rest corresponds to a common base which all participants share, both chassis and mechanics. Hence Supra appears grotesquely deformed on this three-volume body.Underneath the body comes the specifications corresponding to the Xfinitiy 'Car of Tomorrow' (Xfinitiy CoT), similar but not identical to the CoT that is used in the maximum category of the competition, the NASCAR Cup Series.

It has a tubular chassis that is common to all participants, both the Toyota model and the Camaro and Mustang. The engine is also common, a 5.8-liter push-rod V8 aspirated with a four-speed manual transmission. This assembly is manufactured by General Motors for all participants and has a power between 650 and 700 hp, but once added the mandatory intake flanges, these numbers are reduced up to 450 hp. So we can say that this is the only Supra with official eight-cylinder engine, but the truth is that the technical basis has little or nothing to do with Toyota.

The few noticeable traits of the new Toyota Supra Xfinity Series reveal what was expected to see in the production version, such as headlights and the bumper with large air intakes. All this was also present in the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept that was revealed a few months ago during the Geneva Motor Show 2018. Next weekend we will see the production version in Goodwood, although it is not yet known if it will lose the camouflage with which it has already been presented.
