Company launches the first electric road bus in Brazil
BYD has just introduced the D9F, the first electric road bus for sale in Brazil. The model is intended for short and medium distance charter and road operations. The new electric bus has autonomy to run up to 400 km between battery recharges.
The BYD D9F has two electric motors produced by the brand itself. This is the BYD - 2912TZ -XY-A. The combined total power is about 402 hp, according to company information. These engines are integrated into the rear axle wheels.

BYD's new electric road bus uses Viaggio body, in version 1050, manufactured by Marcopolo. The chassis produced at the BYD plant in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, is tubular. This type of construction eliminates the need for stretching for bodies up to 13.2 meters.

BYD's new electric bus is unprecedented in the segment
Among the advantages of the electric bus is the zero level of pollutant emissions, such as CO2. The information is from the director of the BYD bus division, Marcello Schneider. The executive draws attention to the 400 km of autonomy between battery recharges "Short and medium distance operators now have a great option in terms of performance and economy." The complete recharging of the batteries is done in about four hours in fast chargers.
Another highlight of the electric bus, according to Schneider, is its greater availability. That's because the model has far fewer parts than a similar one with a combustion engine.

Operating cost New electric bus
According to the executive, the operating cost is about 70% lower when compared to a conventional diesel bus. This makes the model an interesting alternative. Especially at the present moment, when the search for cost reduction is even greater.
Because it is quiet, the BYD D9F also takes advantage of operations involving road in urban centers. Another highlight is the full air suspension system. The electric bus comes standard with equipment such as ABS disc brakes and traction control.
In the entry version, the BYD D9F is 12.9 meters long and has a capacity for 44 passengers. There is also air conditioning and a mobile armchair that allows full accessibility to the cabin. Sound and entertainment systems, as well as USB ports on all seats are also part of the package. Autonews
